Hi folks
I have been away for a long time. Much has been happening that I needed to respond to in my family. Parents are older and both went through cancer treatments...2 for my father. My sis in law has been battleing against some debilitating affects of diabetes for 10 years and recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer...she just passed a few weeks ago. The house we rent was declared in a bankruptcy so had to figure out where to move to and come up with that money. It has been tough with travel to help out my family...which means time off of work or creating sources of income...and then having to come up with serious money for rent/deposits,etc.
God is good and remembers us. When we aren't looking so much at our selves and reach out to help others inspite of our own circumstances, God intervenes on our behalf. I think the lesson is that we don't focus so inwardly that we forget there are others out side ourselves that are in even more desperate need. We need to reach across the aisle, so to speak, and lend a hand...helping hands are free to give and recieve. God has to be given room to work, and if we are so busy working and struggeling, complaining and crying God can not bestow the miracles, the blessings on us. I couldn't afford to go to help like I did, but I did anyway because it was the right thing to do, and received the blessing of an affordable home in a good decent neighborhood. Remember to have faith, to keep hope alive, and to reach out with Love to someone else---love is free, a smile is free, a conversation and doing someones chores if they can't is free...sharing your meager meal with just one other person a good thing.
I apologize if I sound all preachy...and if you feel what I said is unrealistic...but I just lived it and when I was helping out others I felt better, when I forgot my own troubles others appeared in my life to help me...I will remember this and continue to help those within my reach...I don't have dollars, but I do have a mind, a body and a soul that I can give from freely.
